The University of Bordeaux is a public university located in Bordeaux, France, formed in 2014 from the merger of three universities in the Bordeaux region.
Universite Bordeaux 1 is an international public university in western France founded in 1971. It was founded in 1441 as the Institute of Technology of the University of Bordeaux. It is an important French institution of higher learning. Its campus is the largest university campus in France and one of the largest in Europe. The college is famous for its academic achievements in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science and biology.

2.Development history
The University of Bordeaux dates back to 1441, when it was founded by Pope Eugene IV.
In 1793, the French National Convention announced the abolition of all university institutions, including the University of Bordeaux. The original university continued to operate as a college, and the University of Bordeaux was not rebuilt until 18 July 1896. Due to the “May Storm” in 1968, the University of Bordeaux was split into Universitat Universitat First, Universitat Second and Universitat Third in 1970. In 1995, some colleges were separated from Universitat First to form Universitat Fourth.
In 2014, three of the four universities in Bordeaux (Universite de Bordeaux I, Universite de Bordeaux II and Universite de Bordeaux IV) were remerged into the new Universite de Bordeaux. The University of Bordeaux III remains independent. Since then, the university landscape in Bordeaux has been the Universite de Bordeaux and the Universite Bordeaux Montaigne.
