Texas Tech University is a four-year public university founded in 1923 and is one of the premier public universities in the southern Texas region of the United States. In 2021, there will be 40,666 registered students and 6,917 graduate students, setting a record for 13 consecutive years of university student growth. In 2017, US universities ranked 9th for petroleum engineering graduate students and top 20 for agricultural and applied economics.
