2.Basic introduction.
The University of California, or UC, is a university system of 10 public universities located in California, the United States. It is also the most influential public university system in the world. It is known as “the model of public higher education”. The University of California originated from the College of California, which was founded in Oakland, California in 1853. It was renamed the University of California in 1868.
